LyondellBasell announced on Friday a final investment decision to build a $2.4 billion plant in the Houston area by 2021 that will produce 470,000 metric tons per year of propylene oxide and 1 million t/y of tertiary butyl alcohol. A portion of the latter will remain in the domestic market as high purity isobutylene, which is used in lubricants. Petroleum Quality Institute of America announced Shane M. OKelly, CEO of bulk lubricant distributor PetroChoice, as a new member to PQIAs advisory board. Aegean Marine Petroleum Network Inc.s board of directors appointed its global trading manager, Jonathan Mcilroy, as president. The Piraeus, Greece-based marine lubricants supplier also appointed Jean Jose Metey, who served as interim president since June, as vice president and head of corporate development.
