WorleyParsons is expected to complete front end engineering design in May for Biosynthetic Technologies commercial scale biobased base oil plant in the Houston area, with construction expected to begin this summer. Biosynthetic Technologies said it will run and operate the 30,000 metric tons per year plant, which will be co-located within a large, existing chemicals complex. Lanxess completed the 2.4 billion (U.S. $2.6 billion) all-cash acquisition of Chemtura on April 21. LubeSource was appointed to distribute Veedol products in Ontario, under an agreement signed by Automobile Solutions Americas Inc., which is official licensee for the Veedol brand in Canada. Castrol will provide motor oil for mobile car repair network YourMechanic under a five-year agreement announced April 17.
