Gazpromneft-Lubricants has started to ship finished lubricants to Colombia, and its distributor in that country is expanding.
In a press release last week, the Russian lube marketer said it is supplying G-Energy- and Gazpromneft-branded motor oils, transmission fluids, hydraulic fluids and greases to Columbia and that Petrolubs Colombias has exclusive rights to distribute them there.
We have a systematic plan to expand our presence in Latin America, realizing our international markets development strategy, Gazpromneft-Lubricants General Director Alexandr Trukhan said during an interview. We are trying to apply our successful marketing and export practice to the prospective markets of Latin America.
The company now markets its lubricants in 64 countries, including Latin American nations of Guyana, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Barbados. Officials said the company is also considering opening a chain of oil change and automotive maintenance centers in Columbia.
Petrolubs President Jaime Lafaurie told a reporter his company will spend $1.7 million next year to build distribution centers in four Columbian cities: Bucaramanga, Buenaventura, Medellin and Cali. The company already has facilities in Bogota, Cartagena, Santa Maria and Baranquilla.
Petrolubs is headquartered in Barranquilla and distributes lubricants mostly for the business to business segment, including mining and commercial transportation. In addition to Gazpromneft-Lubricants products, it distributes Texaco-branded marine lubricants for Chevron.
