German metalworking fluids manufacturer Oelheld recently broke ground on a 23,400 square foot manufacturing and warehouse facility in West Dundee, Illinois, to meet increased demand for its products in the United States.
The facility will serve as a new headquarters for Oelheld and will increase its production capacity, the company announced last week. Located in the Oakview Corporate Park, it also gives the company more storage space and establishes a research and development laboratory and a station for unloading tankers. The site will replace Oelhelds current U.S. headquarters located a few miles south in Elgin, Illinois.
The new site is scheduled to be completed by December. The facility will include 15,800 square feet of warehouse space and an additional 16,000 square feet to accommodate future expansion. Stephan Hecht, executive vice president of Oelheld U.S., told Lube Report that the company plans to use the surplus space to expand manufacturing capacity.
We will manufacture our metalworking fluids and coolants at our new facility in West Dundee, as we do at our current facility in Elgin, said Hecht. It is important for us to manufacture our worldwide-available products locally, as it increases productivity and availability of our products and benefits American jobs.
Stuttgart, Germany-based Oelheld GmbH manufactures metalworking fluids, industrial and forging lubricants, greases and coolants. Founded in 1887, Oelheld has several manufacturing facilities worldwide and distributes lubricants in 50 countries.
