Brenntag signed an agreement to acquire Milan, Italy-based Petrolube, which distributes Infineums specialty lubricant and fuel additives.
According to Brenntag, the Petrolube acquisition further strengthens its strategic relationship with Infineum. Applications are vehicles, motorcycles, heavy duty vehicles and industrial use, Brenntag spokesman Hubertus Spethmann told Lube Report. Warehousing will be integrated into our existing facilities, which are planned for next year.
Petrolube distributes only within Italy, Spethmann noted. In November 2011 Brenntag acquired Multisol Group, which distributes lubricant additives and base oils in Europe and Africa.
Headquartered in M lheim an der Ruhr, Germany, Brenntag operates a global network with more than 400 locations in 68 countries.
