Lubricants blender and distributor Colorado Petroleum has moved into a new headquarters location in Denver that includes a tank farm with more than 1 million gallons capacity. The cost was not disclosed.

The companys new headquarters is a 230,000 square foot building that houses members from all of its departments, including the executive team, sales, finance, manufacturing, marketing, distribution and support.

The new facility includes 185,000 square feet of warehouse space, 30,000 gallon blending tanks, four bottling lines, a quality control laboratory and a concrete based tank truck and rail car receiving and shipping depot. The new location features advanced blending technology and state of the art filtering systems for all products. The new buildings size more than triples the square footage of the companys previous buildings, where it had resided since 1960.

The steady growth of Colorado Petroleums products, coupled with years of profitability as a corporation, have positioned us to make this move at a very strategic time, said Clark Thompson, Colorado Petroleums CEO.

The company is a blender and distributor of finished lubricants for automotive, heavy duty and industrial markets in Colorado, Arizona, Wyoming, California, Utah and Nevada. It specializes in private labeling for original equipment manufacturers, retail parts stores and supermarket chains, among other customers.

It has a satellite manufacturing facility with an additional distribution center and warehouse in Phoenix, Ariz. Colorado Petroleum said it is seeking partnerships and/or distributorships throughout the western half of the United States.

Originally founded in 1927, Colorado Petroleum has been under its current ownership since 1971.
