Fuchs to Relocate Lubrodal

Fuchs Lubricants will move its Lubrodal forging lubricants division from Pennsylvania to the companys corporate headquarters in Illinois in 2013 to have more room to grow.

The move provides an opportunity for future capacity expansion and the building of a state of the art facility, Mark Howe, a Fuchs Lubricants vice president, told Lube Report.

Howe explained there is not yet a hard closure date for the Pennsylvania plant because the new facility for Lubrodal in Illinois is expected to take in all of the capacity and products currently made in Pennsylvania. We envision a phased approach concluding by Q2 of 2013, he said.

A statement provided to Lube Report noted the Lubrodal division has been in Emlenton, Pa., since 1988. The company has taken the difficult decision to relocate its Lubrodal operation to its Harvey, Ill., North American headquarters, Fuchs Lubricants stated. We anticipate the transition to the new plant to be completed by spring 2013, and we are hopeful that many of our Emlenton employees will transfer with us at that time.

According to Fuchs web site, Lubrodals products include graphite-containing lubricants for hot and warm forging, non-graphite (synthetic) lubricants for hot forging, and other types such as aluminum forging, aerospace forging and special purpose lubricants.
