ExxonMobil anticipates its board of directors will approve the consolidation of its fuels and lubricants businesses into ExxonMobil Fuels, Lubricants and Specialties Marketing Co. effective Feb. 2, 2012.

ExxonMobil maintains an ongoing commitment to ensuring the organization continues to operate efficiently and effectively, company spokeswoman Kimberly Brasington told Lube Report. ExxonMobil strives to capture substantial value across business lines through integration. The integrated business model has placed many of our businesses at the top of their respective areas of competition, resulting in significant competitive advantage and shareholder value.

The consolidation of ExxonMobil Fuels Marketing Co. and ExxonMobil Lubricants and Petroleum Specialties Co. will not change the headquarters location. Currently, our downstream business is headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia – that includes both the fuels and lubes businesses, Brasington said.

The companys board of directors is expected to appoint A.J. (Allan) Kelly – currently president of ExxonMobil Lubricants and Petroleum Specialties Co. and a vice president of the corporation since 2007 – as president of the consolidated company.

Kelly, 54, began his career with the company in 1981. He held a variety of positions in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Japan and the United States, working in areas including the companys fuels and lubricants marketing activities and refinery logistics and supply operations. In 2001, he was appointed regional director, North America, ExxonMobil Lubricants and Petroleum Specialties Co. He became manager, corporate planning, ExxonMobil Corp., in 2003.
