PetroChoice acquired commercial and industrial lubricants distributor Anderson Lubricants from its shareholder and CEO Steve King. Terms were not disclosed.

Superior, Wis.-based Anderson, which distributes ExxonMobil and private label products, will serve as the foundation for PetroChoices Midwest division.

PetroChoice is the lubricant distribution holding company of KRG Capital Partners, a Denver-based private equity investment firm. Other lubricants distributors under PetroChoice include Tri-County Petroleum, acquired in December 2007, and the automotive division of Loos and Dilworth, acquired in April 2009. Both are in the northeastern United States.

Anderson is in the greater Minnesota-Wisconsin area, so it certainly enhances our geographic reach, Stew Fisher, KRG managing director, told Lube Report.

Fisher said Andersons unique service model was also appealing. I actually think it is an industry-leading model, where they partner with customers and have a number of Anderson employees who are lube technicians actually on site at many of their customers, he said. Its just a very strong service model to go along with the lube distribution.

Partnering with PetroChoice will provide Anderson with the necessary resources and capital to accelerate our growth and expand our service offering, said Anderson CEO King. He and the existing Anderson management team will continue in their current roles and become shareholders of PetroChoice.

Distributing both packaged and bulk lubricants in the Mid-Atlantic region, PetroChoice of Riddlesburg, Pa., serves original equipment manufacturer, off-highway construction, food processing, surface mining, metalworking and passenger automotive industries. The company also offers total fluid management services. Other services include customer on-site tank systems, in-plant and off-loading filtration, application engineering expertise, coolant program expertise and oil analysis.
