Krahn Sells Ergon Pale Oils

Ergon Europe MEA is an operating division of Ergon Refining. It supplies process, base, and electrical oils produced at the companys Vicksburg, Miss., naphthenic base oil refinery, which has capacity of about 19,000 barrels per day.

Krahn Chemies ties to the lubricants industry and its technical expertise made it a valuable partner to broaden our customer base, said Per Klintstam, president of Ergon Europe MEA.

The Hygold base oils from Ergon are an excellent addition to our existing product portfolio of functional additives for the lubricants industry, said Guido Gerdes, Krahn Chemies segment manager for lubricants.

The hydrotreated Hygold products are essential components in the production of water miscible coolants or greases, said Detlev Pazdzior of Krahn Chemies technical sales department. Furthermore, the bright stock with a high viscosity of 928 cSt (at 40 degrees C) and an ASTM-color of 2 are an interesting alternative for dark saturated steam cylinder oils.
