Al Jaber Group will set up a distribution center in Dubai to distribute Shell Aviation lubricants in the United Arab Emirates.

Shell will continue to extend commercial and technical support to the network through a joint customer service alliance with Al Jaber Group. The two companies may extend their agreement, which was announced Sunday, to cover other regional markets in the Middle East.

Our partnership with Al Jaber Trading will help us secure the right quality supply chain for our customers in the UAE and increase our access to new customers across the region, said Richard Jory, regional general manager for Shell Aviation in the Middle East, South and Central Asia and Africa.

The group has a long B2B business experience and is currently Shells automotive lubricants macro distributor in Abu Dhabi, Jory told Lube Report.

The aviation sector in the Middle East is growing, he noted. In the UAE, the success of Emirates and Etihad and low cost carriers such as Air Arabia and FlyDubai is having a positive impact on demand, Jory observed.

Our groups established presence in areas like logistics and trading will help us grow and expand Shell Aviations lubricant offering in the UAE, said Fatima Obeid Al Jaber, chief operating officer for Al Jaber Group.

Shell Aviation has branded operations at airports in the UAE and Oman, and serves customers through third party distributors across the Middle East region. The company supplies specialty aviation lubricants and greases across the Middle East, and serves Middle Eastern based airlines across a network of more than 850 airports across the globe.

Abu Dhabi-based Al Jaber Group is a privately owned set of companies that provides services in the construction, heavy lifting and logistics, industrial and trading sectors. It has more than 50,000 employees.
