The base oil price report in the Jan. 25 issue initially reported speculation that Chevron, after last year’s purchase of Neste’s base oil business, may not for long continue to receive base oils produced at a Sitra, Bahrain, plant that was a joint venture between Neste and Bahrain Petroleum Co. In fact, Chevron stated that it has entered a long-term agreement to receive output from the plant and to continue supplying existing customers.
