Lehvoss Group, a producer and distributor of raw materials for lubricant additives and base oils based in Hamburg, Germany, acquired French lubricant additive distributor GP2C, the company announced last week.

GP2C distributes motor oils, transmission fluids, tractor oils and a number of industrial lubricants, including greases and metalworking fluids. It also distributes anti-corrosion agents, emulsifiers and viscosity modifiers. The company has been an Afton Chemical distributor since 2009.

GP2C distributes its products in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

“We are excited to welcome the new colleagues to our Functional Fluids team,” Stefan Herrmann, head of Lehvoss’ Functional Fluids division, said in an Oct. 19 press release. “With the expertise on automotive and industrial lubricants and fuel additives they will deepen the technical expertise we can offer to our customers. They will also complete our coverage of Western Europe.”

Lehvoss produces and distributes materials for lubricant additives, including corrosion inhibitors, antioxidants and extreme pressure/anti-wear additives. In addition, it offers additive packages for industrial lubricants and materials for base oils.

The company is also involved in a few chemistry industries.

Lehvoss did not respond to a request for comment.

“Lehvoss and GP2C share the same technically focused approach and act with the same mentality; with the complementary portfolios no doubt that there is a fit,” GP2C founder Patrice Harlet said. “I am convinced it will be beneficial for our employees, our customers and our suppliers.”
