Hill Plans Rerefinery in Lithuania

Kazakhstan’s Hill Group expects to break ground in Lithuania soon on an API Group II base oil rerefinery. The project includes a large blending complex that will produce finished lubricants primarily meant for export markets, a company official told Lube Report Monday.

Russian Lube Imports and Exports Fell in 2022

Russia’s lubricant market stagnated in 2022, hampered by lower industrial output in sectors such as automobiles, machine building and metallurgy that were hurt by sanctions, according to a report by B2X, a Moscow-based consultancy. Demand for industrial lubes was up slightly, while production of those products dropped 14%.

Italy Still Rerefines Close to Half of Waste Oil

Italy recycled 98% of used lubricating oils collected there last year – the sixth consecutive year that it met or topped that level – according to a report by the country’s National Consortium for the Management, Collection and Treatment of Used Mineral Oils.
