Russia Auto Sales Tank Amidst Sanctions

New car and light commercial vehicle sales in Russia plunged almost 60% in 2022 as the war in Ukraine ramped up economic sanctions against the country, disrupting logistics of importing automotive parts and leading foreign car makers to exit the country. Sales continued falling in the first two months of this year.

Profits Down for MRS Oil Nigeria

MRS Oil Nigeria Plc reported that gross profit for its lubricant segment fell 64% in 2022 due to negative impacts of inflation. The segment earned 367.4 million naira last year, according to a stock exchange filing by the oil products marketing company, which is headquartered in Lagos. That was down from ₦1 billion in 2021.

Shell Lubricants Egypt was named exclusive lubricants supplier for MG service centers across Egypt, providing its Helix range of products through its partnership with Al-Mansour MG Automotive.  Under a distribution agreement signed effective April 3, Krahn Chemie will distribute United States-based Shrieve’s specialty products across Europe and Israel, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration compressor lubricants and polyalkylene glycol base fluids.
