New car and light commercial vehicle sales in Russia plunged almost 60% in 2022 as the war in Ukraine ramped up economic sanctions against the country, disrupting logistics of importing automotive parts and leading foreign car makers to exit the country. Sales continued falling in the first two months of this year.
Haydale, a graphene and nanomaterial producer based in the United Kingdom, entered an agreement to develop graphene-based lubricants for CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research that operates the European particle physics laboratory, including equipment such as the Large Hadron Collider.

MRS Oil Nigeria Plc reported that gross profit for its lubricant segment fell 64% in 2022 due to negative impacts of inflation. The segment earned 367.4 million naira last year, according to a stock exchange filing by the oil products marketing company, which is headquartered in Lagos. That was down from ₦1 billion in 2021.
