Officials said the new plant is designed to make API Group III and Group III+ base oils in response to growing demand from the automotive sector and that it will open in a year.

These oils will be used for safe and continuous operation of natural gas engines in compression systems in refineries operated by the state-owned oil and gas company at the cities of Fergana and Buhara.

The Union of the European Lubricants Industry launched a new online tool to help companies calculate their carbon footprints. Companies along the supply chain face pressure to disclose emissions data, and the UEIL tool helps those who might not have the dedicated resources to gather data, a spokesperson for the UEIL said during a recent webinar.
