Puraglobe Builds Third Rerefinery

Puraglobe is constructing a third rerefinery alongside its existing facilities in Elsteraue, Germany, the company announced last week. Officials said the new plant is designed to make API Group III and Group III+ base oils in response to growing demand from the automotive sector and that it will open in a year.

Uzbeks Want Domestic Gas Engine Oils

Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev recently signed a decree forming a task force charged with increasing domestic production of strategically important products such as natural gas engine oils, according to Uzbeknefegaz. These oils will be used for safe and continuous operation of natural gas engines in compression systems in refineries operated by the state-owned oil and gas company at the cities of Fergana and Buhara.

UEIL Launches Online Carbon Calculator

The Union of the European Lubricants Industry launched a new online tool to help companies calculate their carbon footprints. Companies along the supply chain face pressure to disclose emissions data, and the UEIL tool helps those who might not have the dedicated resources to gather data, a spokesperson for the UEIL said during a recent webinar.

French company Nyco was selected by Airbus to provide multiple lubricants including, but not only, turbine oils and greases, from its large aeronautics and defense product range. Nyco products are now available to all Airbus worldwide sites – Airbus Commercial, Airbus Helicopters and Airbus Defense and Space.
