Orlen to Recycle Plastics into Polymers

Polish oil major PKN Orlen and KBR, an engineering and technology company based in Houston, recently signed a letter of intent to implement a recycling project to produce polymers and other chemicals from plastics.

France’s Lube Demand Slows

Although lubricant demand slowed in France in June – declining from the same month in 2020 for the first year-on-year decline since February – demand for the first half of this year remained well ahead of last year’s pace, when the COVID-19 pandemic depressed demand.

Condat Partners for Sustainable Tunnels

French lubricant marketer Condat has entered a technology partnership with construction chemicals supplier Chryso to develop sustainable ground treatments and lubricants for tunnel-boring machines. The companies said they have already begun introducing products that decrease impacts on the immediate environment while also reducing carbon footprints.

RN-Lubricants, the lubes arm of state-owned Russian energy company Rosneft, said it exported more than 1,000 metric tons of transformer oil to foreign markets during the first half of this year, more than twice the volume exported in the same period in 2020.
