Poland's Lotos to Add Group II, III

Lotos Group will spend 1.4 billion Poland zloty on investment projects in 2021, one of which includes modernization of its base oil plant in Gdansk, Poland, the company said recently. Construction is expected to begin later this year.

Fuchs Reports Higher Profits

Independent lubricants blender Fuchs Petrolub SE reported large increases in profit and sales for the second quarter, compared to results in 2020’s second quarter, reflecting rebounds in business since the deepest economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.

South African Container Maker Sold

Austria-based Alpla Group, a global plastic packaging and recycling specialist, acquired last month the lubricants division of South African packaging manufacturer Verigreen. Terms were not disclosed. Verigreen, which specializes in bottles and canisters for lubes, operates plants in South Africa and Egypt.
