Avista, Slicker Team on Rerefinery in Denmark
June 12, 2018Avista Oil AG and a United Kingdom-based used oil collector formed a joint venture to build a rerefinery in Denmark at the site of an Avista facility damaged by a fire in July 2017. The new rerefinery will produce API Group I base oil, and construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
Greif Opens Netherlands IBC Plant
June 12, 2018Greif partnered with industrial packager Tholu B.V. to open a new multimillion euro intermediate bulk container factory in Ede, the Netherlands, to serve the Benelux region, the company announced early last week. The facility focuses on the needs of the food industry, including food-grade lubricant packaging.
Total Invests in South Africa Plant
June 12, 2018Total recently completed an upgrade of its lubricant blending plant in Durban, South Africa, including construction of laboratory, part of a plan to bolster its business there and in neighboring countries.

June 12, 2018Qalaa Holdings announced a joint venture between its subsidiary Taqa Arabia and BPs Castrol – called Castrol Egypt Oil – in a June 3 disclosure with the Egyptian Stock Exchange. Taqa owns 49 percent of the JV, which will manufacture and distribute Castrol engine oils in Egypt. United Kingdom-based Petrico, provider of speciality products – including components for lubricants and greases, and industrial additives and packages – into the petroleum and chemical industries, confirmed an alliance with Trans Europe Chemicals, supplier of chemicals and associated products based in the Czech Republic. The tie-up will enable the U.K. business to expand into new markets across Central Europe.
