EU Decision on Lead in Alloys Brings Relief

On both sides of the Atlantic, metal removal fluid suppliers and their customers are relieved by the European Unions extension of regulatory exemptions for lead in steel, aluminum and copper alloys.

Synthetic Turbine Oils from Russia - Again

Rosneft is developing fire-resistant turbine oils for Russias nuclear power plants, a product now imported from the United States, company and government officials said recently.

Mixed 2017 for Hydrodec

United Kingdom-based transformer oil rerefiner Hydrodec Group posted an overall loss for the year, although sales revenue from its U.S. and Australia rerefining operations were up, according to audited earnings results released May 31.

Belgium-based LBC Tank Terminals appointed Haroun van Hovell chairman of its board of directors effective June 1 and said interim chairman Edward Sigar will remain on the board as a director. LBC is a global independent operator of bulk liquid storage facilities for petrochemicals, petroleum products and base oil products. EPPCO Lubricants - which markets a range of Enoc and Caltex lubricants, greases, coolants and specialty products - appointed Alserkal Group official distributor of its automotive and industrial lubes products. Gujarat, India-based Maximus International Ltd. announced plans to set up a subsidiary in Kenya in an effort to strengthen its existing business in Africa. The company primarily imports and exports lubricants, base oils and other chemical products.
