Infineum Establishes Subsidiary in India

Lube additive producer Infineum International Ltd. has expanded its operations in Asia with a new subsidiary in India, the worlds third-largest lubricant market.

India is undoubtedly one of the most rapidly expanding and dynamic fuel and lubricant markets and one that holds an enormous amount of opportunity for our customers, Aldo Govi, executive vice president of sales, said in a recent press release.

An office for the subsidiary, Infineum India Additives Private Ltd., has been set up at The Capital building in Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. The subsidiary, headed by Country Director S.K. Raghuram, will provide marketing support and business development for Infineum in India. Infineum declined to provide additional details.

Milton Hill, United Kingdom-based Infineum views India as a dynamic hub for its continued international growth and expansion because the country is one of the worlds largest automotive markets. Infineum sees better growth opportunities going forward as the Indian government plans to implement the Bharat Stage VI emissions standard, which is modelled on the European Unions Euro 6 passenger car and light commercial vehicles standard, by April 1, 2020, in response to rising air pollution in the country. India currently has BS III implemented across the country and BS IV in major cities. BS IV will be adopted pan-India from April 2017.

As India grows further and as lubricant qualities upgrade, Infineum will now be better positioned to help customers achieve their growth aspirations in this country, Infineum CEO Trevor Russell said.

Infineum is one of the worlds four leading lubricant additive suppliers and has taken several steps in recent years to expand its operations in Asia-Pacific. In May 2014, the company completed a large expansion of its additive factory in Singapore, and two months later it opened a research and development center in Shanghai. In addition to Singapore, Infineum has manufacturing sites in the United States, France, Germany, Italy and Brazil. The company has sales representation in over 70 countries.
