Castrol to Move Mumbai R&D Center

Castrol India Ltd. has decided to permanently close its Wadala, Mumbai research and development center and move its activities to a new location.

A spokesman told Lube Report Asia, The company does not carry out any manufacturing or production activity at the Wadala site. The companys Technology Centre which was housed at the Wadala site will be shifted to a new location. Staffs located at the Wadala site have been temporarily relocated until a more permanent solution is found. The spokesman added that the closure will not impact the companys financial performance or its operations.

Responding to a specific question on the position of the technology activities in the interim, the spokesperson said, The majority of our operational technology activities will be temporarily transferred to our Silvassa plant.These activities will be transferred to the new technology centre once it is operational.
