Eneos Closes Group I Plant

Eneos Corp. closed the API Group I base oil plant at its Negishi refinery near Tokyo this month, part of a decision to permanently close most of the refining complex, a company spokesperson told Lube Report.

Richful Plans Additives Expansion

Richful Lube Additive Co. has proposed investing ¥1 billion (U.S. $138.3 million) to expand its lubricant additive factory in Xinxiang, China, installing equipment that will produce numerous types of chemical additive components for a combined capacity increase of 460,000 metric tons per year.

S-Oil’s Profits Up, Hyundai Shell’s Down

Profits rose 30% for the base oil and lubricants business of S-Oil and fell 16% for base oil refiner Hyundai Shell Base Oil in the third quarter, while sales were up for both, compared to the same period last year.
