Oronite Expands Singapore Plant
September 16, 2022Chevron Oronite said Thursday that it has completed an expansion of its lubricant additive manufacturing plant in Singapore – increasing the number of chemical components it produces to reduce reliance on outside suppliers. The company – part of oil major Chevron, which is headquartered in San Ramon, California, United States – completed the project in two phases that began in February 2020.
South Korea Export Volume Dips
September 16, 2022The volume of base oil exported by South Korea fell 3% in August, compared to the same month last year, while the declared value of the exported base oil rose 8%, according to data released by the Korea Customs Service.
Profits Drop at Lopal, Rise at Richful
September 16, 2022Chinese lubricant marketer Jiangsu Lopal Tech Co. reported that operating income for its lubricant products segment for the first half of the year fell by 23%, while Richful Lube Additives Co. posted a jump of 40% in net profit for the same period.

September 16, 2022Sales of four-wheel automobiles in Southeast Asia reached 261,265 in July, a 55% increase from the same month last year, according to Asean Automobile Federation data. Through the first seven months of this year, sales were up 27% at 1.9 million, compared to 1.5 million for the same period in 2021.
