Albemarle Buys China Lithium Company
October 1, 2021Specialty chemical supplier Albemarle Corp. announced yesterday that it has agreed to purchase Guangxi Tianyuan New Energy Materials Co., a start-up that recently finished building a lithium processing plant in southwestern China. The deal, which will cost Albemarle U.S. $200 million, appears focused on helping to meet demand for lithium derivatives from China’s rapidly expanding electric vehicle fleet.

October 1, 2021Blumenthal Brands Integrated USA and Tide Water Oil Co. (India) Ltd. announced the beginning of a licensed manufacturing partnership to launch the Gunk and Liquid Wrench lubricants, penetrants, automotive and general-purpose degreasing and cleaning products in the Indian market. The initial roll out will consist of imported products that Tide Water Oil will distribute, and future plans include manufacturing in India and subsequent export to select countries.
