South Korean Base Oil Exports Steady

South Korea’s volume of base oil exports for September were barely higher than the same month of 2019 and slightly less than in August of this year, according to Korea Customs Service data. The value was down significantly year to year, as it has been throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Most Indian Companies’ Profits Increase

Castrol India Ltd. reported higher profit for the quarter ending Sept. 30, compared to the same period in 2019, while Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd. posted a slight decline in profit.

Sanyo Chemical Plant Delayed

Japan’s Sanyo Chemical Industries delayed until early next year the start of operations at its new viscosity index improver plant in South Korea because of issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic, a company spokesman told Lube Report.
