Additive Makers Gaining Role in China

A new Chinese national standard for diesel engine oil is expected to go into effect next year, leaving Chinese lubricant blenders relying on additive makers to comply, an official from one additive supplier said at a conference in Singapore this month.

India to Sell Bharat Petroleum Stake

The Indian government plans to sell its 53.29 percent stake in Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd., an oil and gas company that is one of the countrys largest lubricant suppliers and one of four domestic base oil producers.

Tide Water Oil Co. and MJL Bangladesh Ltd. each reported significant gains in net profit but declines in revenue for the quarter ending Sept. 30, according to recently released reports.

Shell Marine extended its relationship with China Cosco Shipping Co. businesses, after winning a contract to supply lubricants for five 62,000 deadweight multi-purpose pulp carriers due delivery to Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers Co. in 2019 and 2020. Pulp carriers are ships that carry cargo for pulp and paper companies.
