Repsol, United Global Form JV

Spains Repsol will begin blending lubricants in Southeast Asia through a joint venture with United Global Ltd., after acquiring a 40 percent stake in its Singapore-based lubricant manufacturer United Oil Co., the companies announced on Sept. 30.

Another India Base Oil Refiner to Upgrade

Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. has contracted Chevron Lummus Global to provide technology that will be used to add API Group II or III capacity to its base oil plant in Mumbai.

Association to Tackle Green Standard

The Shanghai Lubricant Trade Association is organizing a new committee whose first priority will be to set up standards for so-called environmentally friendly lubes.
