Chevron Supplies Group II to Australia

Chevron will market API Group II base oils through a distribution agreement with Caltex Australia, joining the growing number of companies supplying highly refined base stocks down under.

Tianhe Expands to Japan, Singapore, Middle East

Chinese additive manufacturer Tianhe Chemicals began supplying to the Japanese market and will start production at its new plant in Singapore through a toll blender early next year. The company also launched its facility in the United Arab Emirates this week.

Japan's Lube Demand Forecast to Fall

The Petroleum Association of Japan forecast that lubricant demand in Japan this year will drop 0.6 percent to 1.3 million metric tons due to a slowdown in the nation's marine and industrial lubricant markets.

Sri Lanka Appoints Lubes Regulator

The Cabinet of Sri Lanka authorized the countrys Public Utilities Commission last week to act as regulator of the lubricants industry, part of the governments broader efforts to overhaul management of the domestic market.

United Kingdom-based Hydrodec will collect, rerefine and supply transformer and switchgear oils for Australian utility company Essential Energy starting next month. Chevron Oronite appointed Koon Eng Goh general manager for manufacturing and supply chain for Asia-Pacific, replacing Jacques Cazin. It also named Yu Lee Toh regional manager for sales and marketing in the region, replacing Jeff Waite. Mclarens Lubricants partnered with Softlogic Automobiles to supply ExxonMobils Mobil lubricants for King Long luxury coaches in Sri Lanka.
