Perstorp on Tuesday said it closed a deal to buy out its minority partner in joint venture Perstorp Chemical Co. – formerly Fufeng Perstorp Chemical Co. – which has owned and operated the facility. Sweden-based Perstorp is now the sole owner of the polyol manufacturing operation in Zibo, Shandong province, about 400 kilometers south of Beijing. The plant mainly produces trimethylopropane, a polyalcohol that can be used in production of synthetic lubricants.
