Uzbekistan Base Oil Upgrade Delayed

A project to upgrade Uzbekistan’s only base oil plant has been delayed and is now scheduled to be completed in 2025, instead of 2024, according to an official with SEG Motol, the newly established lube arm of oil major Saneg.

South Korea Base Oil Exports Slide in November

South Korea exported 10% less base oil in November than in the same month of last year, and the reported value of the exports fell 24%, according to data released today by a government agency.

Profits Down for GS Caltex, Up for Michang

South Korea’s GS Caltex reported a 52% third quarter drop in operating profit for its lubricants and base oils business, noting a decline in the spread between average base oil prices and Dubai crude oil prices. Lubricants blender Michang Petroleum reported a 29% jump in net profit.
