Brazilian lubricant maker Moove launched its engine oil and automotive chemicals brand Comma in Spain. The launch is part of a strategy to diversify its brand portfolio and gain more control over its offerings, according to news reports.
Spaniards consumed about 350,000 metric tons of lubricants per year. Germany, the continent’s leading lubricant market, consumes double that.
Moove is the official distributor of ExxonMobil’s Mobil 1 products across the Americas and Europe and is the 100% owner of Comma.
Comma traces its roots back to the 1960s in the United Kingdom, where it has a reputation as targeting mechanics by offering training and technical support for workshops. Comma’s product range includes engine oils, brake fluids and transmission fluids. Moove claims the range is compatible with 96% of Spain’s car parc.
Comma has a number of OEM approval for its products, including Jaguar Landrover STJLR.03.5007, Ford WSS-M2C952-A1 and VW 508 00/509 00.
“We want to be the partner that helps workshops to grow, offering high quality products, as well as the right tools, training and support at all times,” said María Roy, Moove’s European marketing manager.
