Process fluid provider Kodiak acquired Wayne, Oklahoma-based Aztech Lubricants, a specialist in wire drawing and wire lubricating formulation, adding powdered chemical manufacturing and increased capacity for oil-based blending. Terms were not disclosed.

Aztech provides solutions for the wire drawing industry – serving the aerospace, agricultural, tire manufacturing, fasteners, screens, and fencing market segments.

According to Aztech Lubricants’ website, the company specializes in formulation and production of calcium, sodium and potassium stearate drawing powders, RP oils, ship out oils, drawing oils and precoats – both enhanced borax and borax free. It also provides its customers with various related products, including pads, coatings and spiral brushes.

In Wayne, Aztech has a 40,000-square foot manufacturing facility in Wayne, Oklahoma, with an in-house laboratory for quality control and research and development. Its global presence consists of international manufacturing and distribution facilities in both Colombia and India

Kodiak supplies chemicals for the steel, automotive, energy and aerospace industry. It noted the acquisition of Aztech Lubricants solidifies its position in the specialty chemical space.

Kodiak said Aztech’s wire drawing powder-based products will add to its product portfolio, which consists of fire-resistant hydraulic fluids, rolling oils, metalworking fluids, corrosion inhibitors and polymeric resins.

In the first quarter of 2023, Kodiak acquired Cincinnati-based Coolant Control Inc. and Vulcan Oil, adding to its product portfolio.

“By acquiring Aztech Lubricants we are continuing to execute our growth strategy – increasing our geographical footprint and manufacturing capabilities, while optimizing delivery timelines,” Kodiak President Laura Dickey, stated in a March 5 press release. “As we continue growing our portfolio of products organically and through acquisitions, our customers around the globe have demonstrated their receptiveness to our capabilities – helping them streamline procurement through consolidation of suppliers.”
