North Carolina-based Get Spiffy, an on-demand car care services company, acquired Pit Crew, which provides mobile oil changes, tire and other automotive services to Tennessee’s three largest markets – Nashville, Memphis and Knoxville. Terms were not disclosed.

Pit Crew was founded in August 2018 by Harrison Collins, Adam Major and Josh Tillery to provide mobile oil change and tire services in Knoxville. Since then, the company expanded to individuals and fleet clients throughout Nashville and Memphis. The three co-founders will stay on to help lead the acquired company’s transition before settling into new roles with Spiffy.

“We’ve had our sights set on Tennessee for some time,” Spiffy CEO Scott Wingo said in a press release.

Since 2014, Get Spiffy expanded its presence in the mobile car care market to over two dozen of the largest metropolitan areas in the United States. Customers can schedule with the company’s smartphone app. While Spiffy launched with mobile car wash and detail services and entered oil change and tire services later, Pit Crew focused first on oil changes and tires while exploring preventative maintenance services, such as replacements for batteries, wiper blades, headlights and tail lights. Like Spiffy, Pit Crew’s trained and certified technicians are 100% mobile, using branded vans with all the equipment needed to provide services at a customer’s location.

In 2019, the company acquired Your Location Lubrication, adding a high-volume oil change system to its fleet management service offering and uniting two companies that perform oil changes and other maintenance services on-site. Get Spiffy said at the time that Orlando, Florida-based Your Location Lubrication, known as YLL, was appealing as an acquisition because of its technology that enables technicians to perform on-site oil changes quickly and because of its experience working with heavy-duty and commercial vehicles.

Spiffy serves a variety of types of fleet operators, such as rental car companies, used car seller Carvana, auto auctions, mid-market fleets and municipalities. Prior to the acquisition of YLL, Spiffy worked on passenger vehicles.
