U.S. auto sales are expected to finish near 14.3 million for August, on a seasonally adjusted basis, the slowest pace this year, according to a Cox Automotive forecast released Aug. 25. The August number will be down from July’s 14.8 million sales and down from 15.2 million in August 2020, after averaging nearly 17 million a month this year through May.
