Shell Lubricants and CSW Industrials Inc., parent company of Whitmore Manufacturing LLC, announced on April 1 the successful formation of their previously announced 50-50 joint venture, Shell & Whitmore Reliability Solutions LLC. The JV between Shell’s United States lubricants business and Whitmore will provide proprietary lubricants, greases, coolants and reliability products to companies engaged in North America Class I, II and III rail – excluding  municipal transit systems – and U.S. mining, excluding quarries. DuPont increased prices by up to 10% on brake fluids and compressor lubricants globally, effective for shipments made on or after April 1 or as soon as contracts allow.
