Whatever your needs, no matter the application, Coolants Plus, PennStar and its popular STARFIRE brand promises an affordable, convenient and effective solution for the lubricants industry.
For the past two decades, the Ohio-based wholesale distributor has been a surprise package in a hugely competitive marketplace, building its success on the basis that quality customer service is every bit as important as the products themselves.
“We like to think we do things differently and that’s one of the reasons we’ve grown so rapidly,” says Tim Wullenweber, vice president of marketing and technical services at Coolants Plus, Inc.
“We provide the products that meet all your requirements, coupled with great customer service,” he adds. “We look to do everything we possibly can to help our customers be successful and stay ahead of their competitors.”
Besides supplying all major brands of motor oil and automotive lubricants, it also offers an extensive line of lubricants, antifreeze and chemicals through its own STARFIRE brand.
These premium products provide the same specifications as branded products for the passenger car motor oil, heavy duty, agriculture, construction and industrial markets – but with significant cost savings.
From its 130,000 square foot facility in Hamilton, Ohio, the business ships its ever-expanding range both across the U.S. and internationally.
Since its STARFIRE retail packaging hit the shelves in 2016, its portfolio has grown tenfold with new products added every year. STARFIRE has experienced double digit growth every year since its inception.
“We realized there was a real need for a competitively priced, quality product aimed at anyone buying bulk motor oils and coolants,” adds Wullenweber. “We’ve seen unprecedented growth for a small company, and have taken the industry a little by surprise. We are one brand that does it all – no matter what industry you’re in.”
Since opening its modern 300,000 square foot PennStar blending facility in January 2018, the business has also produced its own motor oils, gear oils and industrial oils. It now offers contract packaging and works closely with companies to develop custom formulations as well.
The PennStar plant sits on 10 acres in Northampton, Pennsylvania, with rail access and 850,000 gallons of tank storage. It has a production capacity of over 3.5 million gallons each month.
It also benefits from a company-owned fleet of bulk transport trucks and tankers, helping to ensure timely deliveries.
Looking ahead, Wullenweber says the business is focused on developing new formulations, growing the industrial segment and expanding its distributor network to carry the STARFIRE brand.
“We’re a one-stop shop and if you need a product, we do whatever is necessary to take care of our customers. We aim to get you the right products, at the right price, at the right time,” he adds. “Our message is clear: we like to do business differently. Our customers’ success is what drives us.”
