Get Spiffy Inc. acquired Your Location Lubrication, adding a high-volume oil change system to its fleet management service offering and uniting two companies that perform oil changes and other maintenance services on-site. Terms were not disclosed.

Orlando, Florida-based Your Location Lubrication, known as YLL, was appealing as an acquisition because of its technology that enables technicians to perform on-site oil changes quickly and because of its experience working with heavy-duty and commercial vehicles. “YLL has technology designed to change the oil on four to six vehicles in under an hour,” Spiffy CEO and Co-founder Scott Wingo told Lube Report.

Wingo said Spiffy serves a variety of types of fleet operators, such as rental car companies, used car seller Carvana, auto auctions, mid-market fleets and municipalities. Prior to the acquisition, Spiffy worked on passenger vehicles. “YLL has a heavy[-duty] and commercial – all the way up to 18-wheeler – capability we are looking to expand,” he said.

Spiffy offers a variety of on-demand oil change, hand car washing, detailing and maintenance service options. Customers can schedule with the company’s smartphone app, and technicians use fully equipped vans to perform services at office parks, fleet operations centers and residences. The acquisition adds 40 to 50 vehicles to Spiffy’s fleet to bring it up to over 200 vans, Wingo said. The combined company is now in 20 markets and provides over 40,000 preventative maintenance services for fleets each month.

Research Triangle Park, North Carolina-based Spiffy introduced fleet management as a service in June 2019.

Your Location Lubrication was founded in 2009 by Zachary Zeller. The business was developed with a focus on high-volume rental car preventative maintenance and today is in nine markets, primarily at airport locations.

“Today’s fleet managers are seeking innovative preventative maintenance solutions to reduce vehicle turnaround and increase utilization,” Your Location Lubrication CEO Zeller said in a news release. “Providing that type of service requires multifunctional capabilities and a digital backbone. Spiffy fleet management as a service delivers that.” Zeller will stay on with Spiffy as senior vice president of fleet business development.
