PetroChina Expands KunLun Lubricant Distribution in Australia
PetroChina Lubricant Company, China Petroleum Technology and Development Corp. (CPTDC) and Australia’s Brooks Group signed a cooperation agreement in Perth on Oct. 20 to expand the KunLun Lubricating brand’s presence in Australia. The partners will combine technical expertise and local distribution networks to supply integrated lubrication solutions to companies in the mining and engineering construction sectors. The agreement also calls for expanded local services.
The deal shifts KunLun’s Australian approach from product trading toward joint development of distribution channels with Brooks, which will contribute its local network. PetroChina Lubricant and CPTDC will provide technical expertise. The companies described the agreement as a model for expanding KunLun’s international business. They did not disclose investment figures, sales targets, product volumes or the agreement’s duration, and gave no timetable for implementation. KunLun is a lubricant brand under China National Petroleum Corp., PetroChina’s parent company. The agreement supports the group’s efforts to develop overseas markets through local distribution partnerships.
