Colonial Group to Acquire Foster Fuels
Colonial Group Inc. has agreed to acquire Foster Fuels, bringing the Virginia-based fuel and energy services company into the Savannah, Georgia-based family-owned group. Foster Fuels supplies fuel, lubricants and propane to residential, commercial, agricultural, industrial and transportation customers. The acquisition will expand Colonial’s geographic reach and broaden its portfolio of energy products and services.
Foster Fuels will continue to operate under its existing name and leadership following the transaction. Colonial said it intends to retain Foster’s employees and maintain its existing customer relationships and service structure. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close Oct. 1, 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.Certas expands industrial fluid-management offering
Certas expands industrial fluid-management offering
Certas Lubricant Solutions has partnered with Total Filtration Solutions to expand its industrial fluid-management services. The partnership adds filtration equipment and technical support covering air, coolant and oil management to Certas’ existing lubricant offering. The companies said the arrangement will help customers improve fluid cleanliness and equipment performance while reducing maintenance requirements. The expanded service covers filtration systems and associated products used to manage contaminants in industrial fluids. Filtration can extend lubricant and component life by removing particles and other contaminants that contribute to wear and fluid degradation.
The move broadens Certas’ offering beyond lubricant supply into equipment and services designed to support fluid-management programs. Certas Lubricant Solutions is part of Certas Energy UK and supplies lubricants and related services to industrial and commercial customers. Total Filtration Solutions provides filtration products and services for industrial applications. The companies said the partnership will combine Certas’ lubricant expertise and customer network with Total Filtration Solutions’ filtration capabilities.
Verde Marine Energy enters marine lubricants
Dutch marine-fuel supplier Verde Marine Energy has expanded into marine lubricants, launching a new business unit effective Sept. 1. The company has appointed Patrick Koers as lubricant trader to develop the business, which will complement Verde’s existing marine-fuel activities. Verde said the move will allow it to offer customers a broader range of products and services, while drawing on its existing relationships in the marine fuels market.
The company supplies marine fuels in ports across Europe and other international markets. Its expansion into lubricants follows a wider trend among marine-fuel suppliers and bunker traders to add adjacent products as shipowners seek to consolidate procurement.
Koers previously worked in the marine lubricants sector, bringing experience in lubricant trading and customer relationships to the new operation. The launch gives Verde another route into the marine supply chain as shipping companies face increasing demands around lubricant performance, fuel efficiency and equipment reliability.
