Fuchs Opens Americas Technology Center in Massachusetts
Fuchs has unveiled a new Americas Technology Center in Taunton, Massachusetts, expanding its research, development and technical support capabilities across the Americas. The 55,000-square-foot facility opened Aug. 10 and will focus on advanced lubrication and specialty solutions.
The center brings together tribology laboratories, application development teams and technical specialists to develop and test lubricants under operating conditions designed to replicate real-world applications. Fuchs said the facility will support work in automotive, industrial manufacturing, metalworking, medical and other sectors.
The facility will also support applications including high-load industrial gearboxes, semiconductor manufacturing and space exploration. Fuchs said the center will connect its Americas-based scientists and engineers with its global network, helping move products from development through commercial production.
Customers, OEMs and research partners will be able to use the facility for technical demonstrations, root-cause analysis and joint development projects. The opening coincided with Fuchs’ first Lubrication Technology Conference, which brought together industry, research and technology organizations.
HD Hyundai Oilbank Supplies Korea’s First Hydrogen Engine Oil
HD Hyundai Oilbank has begun supplying South Korea’s first engine oil developed specifically for hydrogen internal-combustion engines. The XTeer H2-ICE product is being supplied to commercial vehicle manufacturers, including Tata Daewoo, as hydrogen-powered engines move toward wider use. HD Hyundai Oilbank began developing lubricant technology for hydrogen engines in 2023. The company completed product development after testing the oil’s performance in 2025. XTeer H2-ICE was developed using three proprietary technologies that HD Hyundai Oilbank developed during the project.
The company said hydrogen engines create different lubrication requirements from conventional internal-combustion engines. XTeer H2-ICE was designed to address those requirements and provide protection under hydrogen-engine operating conditions. The launch gives HD Hyundai Oilbank a lubricant product for a developing powertrain technology as vehicle manufacturers examine hydrogen internal-combustion engines alongside other lower-carbon options. The company is supplying the oil to commercial vehicle makers as they develop and test hydrogen-powered vehicles.
PSP Energy Wins Sinopec Lubricant Distribution Deal in Malaysia
PSP Energy Berhad has appointed its wholly owned subsidiary, PSP Lubricants (M) Sdn Bhd, as an authorized distributor of Sinopec Lubricant products in Perak and the east coast states of Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang.
Under the agreement, PSP Lubricants will sell and distribute Sinopec’s automotive, industrial and specialty lubricant products to customers across the industrial, transportation and commercial sectors in the designated territories.
PSP Energy said the appointment will broaden its lubricant portfolio and expand its presence outside Malaysia’s major urban centers. The company provides commercial fuel, bunkering and lubricant solutions and said the distributorship supports its efforts to grow its lubricants business.
Group Managing Director Ong Chee Seng said the partnership will allow PSP Energy to use its existing distribution network, industry experience and customer relationships to serve customers across the four states.
Sinopec’s lubricant division supplies automotive, industrial and specialty products across multiple markets. The agreement gives PSP Lubricants access to the portfolio as it expands its distribution activities in Malaysia.
