Chevron Products Company will expand its North American base oils distribution network through new agreements with HF Sinclair and Renkert Oil, broadening customer access to its base oils and process oils, the company announced yesterday.
The agreement follows HF Sinclair’s announcement last week that it plans to separate its Lubricants & Specialties business into an independent publicly traded company and retire its base oil refining assets in Mississauga, Ontario, during 2027. Chevron’s expanded distribution role aligns with that transition by providing API Group II base oil supply and a broader North American distribution network.
Effective May 1, 2027, HF Sinclair Lubricants & Specialties will become Chevron’s exclusive distributor of Group II base oils in Canada and within its existing U.S. customer territories. The company will also receive nonexclusive rights to distribute Group II base oils in selected additional U.S. markets. Chevron said the changes are intended to strengthen product availability, technical support and regional coverage.
The new distribution structure comes as lubricant manufacturers continue to seek dependable supply chains and wider access to premium base stocks. By dividing responsibilities between two distributors with established regional strengths, Chevron is expanding its sales network while maintaining coverage across North America and Europe for key product lines.
Under the agreement, Renkert Oil will continue distributing Paralux process oils, Paramount process Nexbase Group III base oils throughout the United States and Canada, while retaining responsibility for Chevron Group II base oils outside HF Sinclair Lubricants & Specialties’ exclusive territory. Renkert will also continue distributing process oils across Europe. HF Sinclair brings an established logistics network and customer base to the arrangement following its July 28 announcement that it will retire its base oil refining assets in Mississauga, Ontario. Chevron also said its planned introduction of Group III+ base oils in early 2027 will further expand its premium product portfolio.

Chevron said the combined capabilities of the two distributors will strengthen customer access to inventory, technical support and logistics while supporting lubricant manufacturers and process oil customers across a broader geographic footprint.
