Cerilon Inks Technology for Project
Canadian start-up Cerilon announced agreements securing multiple technologies for the gas-to-liquids project it is developing in Williams County, North Dakota, United States. Agreements with Topsoe and Sasol South Africa would cover hydrogen production, gas reforming and Fischer Tropsch conversion of gas into liquid. The single point contracts are contingent on project financing, which has yet to be obtained.
Cerilon has said its goal is to develop multiple sites to refine local natural gas into API Group III base oils, low-sulfur diesel and naphtha. The Williams County project would have capacity to produce 5,800 barrels per day of base oil. The company previously said it aimed to secure financing by this year and to open the facility by 2028.
Kemiyon Cleared to Buy BASF Pakistan
Pakistani competition authorities gave United Arab Emirates-based Kemiyon Chemical Solutions Trading FZCO clearance to acquire the Pakistan operations of chemical giant BASF. The Competition Commission of Pakistan noted that Kemiyon does not currently do business in the country and concluded that the deal would not affect market concentration.
