Chevron Oronite made Laurent Jumelle as its new president, following the transition of Cary Knuth to a different leadership role within Chevron. Laurent formally assumed the presidency on December 16, 2025, while Knuth moved into the position of vice president of Specialty Sales at Chevron. Laurent is based in Rueil-Malmaison, France. He earned his undergraduate qualification in chemical engineering from École Supérieure de Chimie Physique Électronique de Lyon and later completed a master’s degree in organic chemistry at the University of Notre Dame in the United States. Since joining Chevron in 1995 as a product specialist, Laurent has built a long career across multiple senior leadership positions within the organisation. Prior to his appointment as president, he was responsible for overseeing sales and marketing activities across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa as general manager.
Caltex Malaysia
Leong Jee Wong is country chairman in Malaysia. Leong is a veteran executive with more than 27 years of sector experience in the country. Before this appointment, Leong was based in Singapore, where he led the fuels and lubricants business, managing a range of sales channels across both segments. He joined Caltex in 2005 and has since worked extensively throughout the downstream value chain, including roles spanning merchandising, industrial and commercial fuels, supply and distribution, terminal management and regional lubricants sales across Southeast Asia. Leong also previously worked in Malaysia between 2017 and 2020 as an area transportation and operations manager. As country chairman, Leong said he intends to deepen collaboration with Caltex Malaysia’s retail partners, contribute to community development, provide cost-effective energy solutions, and reinforce the company’s standing through strong people leadership, partnerships, and operational performance.
Petronas
Malaysia’s national oil company, Petronas announced the appointment of Mohd Jukris Abdul Wahab as COO, effective Feb. 1, 2026. According to Petronas, the appointment supports the company’s ongoing transformation efforts as it adapts to significant changes in the global energy environment. The COO role is intended to assist the president and group chief executive officer, particularly in coordinating engagements with federal and state authorities to improve alignment and execution across the organization. Mohd will take on the COO responsibilities while continuing in his current role as executive vice president and chief executive officer of Petronas’ upstream business, a position he assumed in July 2024 after nearly 30 years with the company. Mohd began his career at Petronas in 1990 as a reservoir engineer and has since held numerous senior roles within the upstream segment, including vice president of Malaysia Assets and vice president of International Assets. He has also served as an independent director on the boards of Petronas Carigali Sdn. Bhd. and PC International Ventures Sdn. Bhd.
