SK Enmove Opens China Technology Center in Shanghai
SK Enmove held an opening ceremony on Dec. 15 for its China Technology Center in Shanghai, China, marking the company’s first overseas technical center as it deepens its presence in the Chinese lubricants market. Speaking at the ceremony, Wonekee Kim, Global President of SK Enmove, said the company is focused on developing high-quality lubricant products based on Yubase, its Group III base oil technology, and on delivering differentiated technical solutions to customers in China. Kim described China as a strategically important market for SK Enmove, citing the country’s role as one of the most dynamic regions for transformation and innovation in the global automotive industry.

STLE Launches Travel Grants Program for Tribology and Lubrication Engineers
The STLE has launched a new travel grants program to help tribology and lubrication engineering professionals overcome financial barriers to attending conferences. STLE is committing an initial $10,000 through its STLE NextGen Fund and is seeking additional support from corporate and individual sponsors to expand the program. Eligible applicants will be able to apply for grants of up to $1,000, with application details available on the STLE website starting in January 2026. The initiative aims to support early-career engineers, researchers, and industry professionals, while corporate sponsors will receive recognition for contributing to workforce development and professional advancement in the tribology and lubrication community.
