Firemen tackled the blaze for three hours.

A fire broke out at an oil and lubricants store on Blanco Galindo Avenue in Cochabamba, Bolivia, damaging both levels of the building, local news reported. The event highlights ongoing challenges in fire safety compliance for facilities handling combustible materials..

Firefighters took more than two hours to bring the blaze under control and authorities reported no injuries but said the business sustained major material losses.

Bolivia’s lubricant market has expanded in recent years, driven by industrial and automotive demand.

Investigators said the blaze likely began on the building’s second floor, where flammable products were stored, before spreading throughout the structure. Only the metal framework remained after the fire was extinguished.

“There were no active outbreaks after containment,” emergency personnel said.
