Zeller+Gmelin, a chemical company based in Germany, has opened a lubricant production facility in Huzhou, China, as part of its expansion in Asia. The event marked the start of operations at the new site, the construction of which was announced in 2021.

The facility is located in the Nan Taihu New District in Zhejiang Province. It will produce automotive, metalworking, wire drawing and textiles lubricants.

Zeller+Gmelin will continue to operate its sales and service center in Suzhou. That office will handle customer service, consulting and order processing. The Huzhou site will focus on production.

The project involved cooperation between teams in Germany, Suzhou and Huzhou, and included equipment and staff from the local area.

Zeller+Gmelin was founded in 1866 in Eislingen, Germany. The company operates in more than 80 countries and its products include lubricants, printing inks and chemicals.
