Petronas Lubricants International launched two product ranges, one with local manufacturer Glide Technology to produce and distribute a new line of premium insulating oils and another a new range of co-branded technical fluids called Tutela Iveco with commercial vehicle manufacturer Iveco.

The collaboration with Glide Technology comes as Malaysia’s government increases its efforts to strengthen energy infrastructure, under the National Energy Transition Roadmap, which targets double the country’s current renewable energy capacity by 2050. The anticipated rise in electricity consumption is in part from large data center investments, which is in turn pushing demand for high-performance insulating oils.

The insulating oils will be manufactured at Glide’s facility in Shah Alam, Selangor, and distributed across the country.

Glide Technology, a homegrown SME, supplies lubricants to both transformer manufacturers and utility firms. The partnership is seen as a strategic move to enhance local capacity and competitiveness in the industrial lubricants sector.

Meanwhile, Petronas and Iveco have developed a line of axle oils, automatic and manual transmission fluids, and brake fluids, complementing the existing Iveco Urania engine oils, developed for light and heavy-duty Iveco vehicles.

The newly launched fluids will be exclusively available through Iveco’s authorized dealer network. The announcement also introduces updated branding for the Tutela Iveco range, retaining the signature blue packaging while adding refreshed labelling.

The two companies have worked together for more than 50 years, with the latest product launch one of the industry’s longest-standing OEM-lubricant partnerships.
