After rigorous testing, U.S.-based cooling innovation company Airsys has approved Belgian bio-based oleochemicals company Oleon’s plant-derived Qloe for use in Airsys’s LiquidRack system.
Data centers are feeling ever-greater pressure on their cooling systems’ thermal management capabilities. Crypto currency mining, artificial intelligence, edge computing and high-density processors demand evermore power and generate more heat. Liquid cooling is the likely to be the dominant solution.
The LiquidRack system sprays cooling fluid directly directly onto CPUs, which the company says improves heat transfer and reduce fluid consumption compared with immersion cooling.
AI Green Bytes launched its first immersion-cooled data centre in Paris, France, using oleochemical company Oleon’s Qloe plant-based, non-toxic and biodegradable fluid.
Castrol, the U.K. lubricant division of energy major BP, and French electrical technology company Schneider Electric have built a liquid cooling technology laboratory in Shanghai. The new facility will be used as a customer demonstration studio and a benchmarking venue for liquid cooling projects.
