Eneos Corporation announced in a press release that it will begin to phase out production of lubricants and fuels at its Yokohama plant in Yokohama city, Kanagawa prefecture from January 2026 to March 2028 and may relocate production to its existing facilities.
The move is part of Eneos’ plans to restructure and strengthen the competitiveness of its supply chain in petroleum refining and marketing, it said.
“As a result of comprehensive consideration of various environments surrounding the petroleum refining and marketing business, including the structural decline of domestic demand for petroleum products and severe international competition mainly in Asia, Eneos has determined that there is an urgent need to restructure the production and supply network of its refineries and plants,” said the company in its press release on 25 March.
The plant started operations in 1922 and has a capacity of 126,000 kiloliters per year of lubricants and 3,900 t/y of grease. The company did not announce plans for its grease production at the plant.
